I am usually good at figuring out the network issues i have encountered in the past but this one has gotten the better of me.
What I have:
-Qnap TS-251 4gbRam 2x4TB Red drives
-Plex Media server running on the Qnap
-Asus N66u router, latest Merlin Firmware
-PIA VPN, setup on the router w/Openvpn
-Variety of mobile devices
What I would like:
-To run the VPN on the router fulltime while having remote access to PlexMediaServer on the QNAP. When the VPN is active, port 32400 is inaccessable remotely.
SITREP:
Just factory restored all devices to eliminate any tinkering that may have been in the way. I have tried all the previous recommendations posted throughout the interwebs and could not find the solution that works for me. I have just enough knowledge of the tools necessary to ssh into the devices and post scripts but i must be missing something.
My network looks like this:
FiberOptic ---N66U ---qnap ---Plex Media Server
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx---192.168.1.1 ---192.168.1.20 ---- 192.168.1.20:32400
Is it a possibility? I read so much over the past few weeks that leads me to believe that it is possible I just cant seem to find the magic.
