I'm doing a minor upgrade from N56U to N66U due to more firmware flexibility on the N66U. I am wondering if I should go Shibby or Toastman.

I need OpenVPN, USB and QoS functionality. I have only a 7mbps down/7mbps up line. Which firmware would allow priority to my Roku boxes when playing media but not affect my gaming latency, but when downloading games via Xbox not saturate my line making Netflix/Hulu unplayable?

I do this currently on my N56U but with moonmans padavan build but looking for something more flexible/robust. Your help is appreciated!

Both are excellent. Toastman has probably "written the book" on QoS in his post on the linksysinfo.com forum but there is much cross pollination between he and Shibby. I use Shibby's 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-132 K26AC USB AIO-64K on my 66U but I do not use QoS. Shibby seems to release upgrades more frequently and have more features...Toastman seems a bit more conservative. Try them both...changing firmware on the 66U is easy and safe.

Thank you so much for your post. After several attempts, I was able to flash a stock upgrade and then move to Shibby's Tomato. Working alright so far, trying to get the learning curve for QoS down. Thanks again friend.
