Hi,

When using RT-N66U as router, what are some options for implementing name resolution on LAN and WAN?

Currently we use a split DNS configuration where our internal DNS forwards to our public DNS that runs on our firewall. LAN clients are Windows 7, iDevices, and a few gaming consoles. LAN server is Win2003 and runs internal DNS.

Regards,

You Windows 2003 Server - is it a standalone server, or is it in a Windows domain? If it's in a Windows domain, is it a DC (or is there another DC/DNS server also)?

We migrated our internal web and email services that run on a two-server (DC, Exchange) domain to a hosted service. A third server runs ISA for firewall. The DC provided internal DNS that forwarded to public DNS running on the ISA server.

The plan is to replace the three servers with an existing stand-alone Win2003 file server and the RT-N66U router.
