NAT acceleration and Channel discretion

Hi,

two questions

1. Do I need to keep the NAT acceleration enabled if am using the Asus router AC68U latest firmware 380.61 in AP mode? I have not found any specific articles to AP and NAT acceleration but would assume it can be disabled?

**** Update, I decided to disable the NAT acceleration but I have no option to re-enable it. In fact I can no longer see any of the LAN options as I did for jumbo frames, NAT acceleration or spanning tree. I do notice better performance but the CPU does spike a bit more during speedtest.

2. My Asus displays channel 6 as primary and 8 as the extension. When I use the Acrylic WiFi or inSSider application, both report that am using channel 6 and 10. Why is there a discretion between what the Router reports 6+8 vs. the applications 6+10? Not sure if this is a bug with the firmware?

1. When router is operating in access point mode, there is no need for NAT acceleration .
2. That is perfectly normal and is not considered a bug.

Thank you, I figured as much but I should have the ability to enable LAN options and not disappear after disabling the NAT acceleration. Seems if I manually enter the http://IP address/Advanced_SwitchCtrl_Content.asp am able to see the LAN options as stated earlier and able to re-enable functions. Can this be added into the GUI for future in AP mode?

The NAT acceleration setting doesn't do anything at all while in AP mode, which is why that setting (along with the rest of that page) aren't accessible in AP mode.

Thank you, understood and agree on the NAT acceleration, perhaps this page should not be an option to begin with once you select AP mode via the Traffic Analyzer tab. With that in mind, this is not applicable if you want STP or jumbo frames enabled. Point being, I have no ability to enable/disable STP or Jumbo frames once you disable NAT acceleration as the whole page disappears.
