I have an issue with getting my two PS3s on an open nat type. The first PS3 i setup port forwarding a long time ago and i always have an open nat but the other PS3 i cannot use this workaround since you can only use one ip address for the gaming ports. I tried DMZ which did not work as well. I changed the UPNP from 1 to 65535 which did not work as well. I do not recall having an issue before since my wife uses this console and was able to play the same game as me but now since the nat has changed to moderate the game will load but she will lose connection and get booted out of the game. When i change my static ip on the console that has port forwarding the nat changes to moderate. Why is my router with merlins latest build causing a moderate nat when I did not have this issue with merlins older builds.

Router: ASUS RT-N66U

Thanks,

Matt

DMZ works for my xbox 360.. Sometimes i just have to hit apply for the router to accept the changes, and then i switch of the xbox and on again and my nat type is open. You could maybe read-up on which ports the PS3 needs open and add those ports to the routers port forwarding tab. I know there is a list of ports that need to be open for the xbox 360 to have "nat type open". PS3 should have something similar. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice but i forward my ps3 a long time ago and i did not even need too since it was already an open nat. I just wanted a better connection in a game with forward ports. The problem is my other ps3 that my wife plays on is now displaying moderate and she enters a game and she will instantly get kicked out. The ps3 she plays on never had a problem before and i have used merlins build for past year. If i take my ps3 off port forward i too will get a moderate nat which i did not before. I put her ps3 in DMZ and it did not work during the whole time i tried changing a few settings, restarting the ps3, restarting the router, etc. i setup a static ip in the router for her ps3 and put that ip in the DMZ. Any other suggestions to get this to work?

Thanks

Matt
