Need to replace my RT-AC68P router...suggestions please?

I have owned this router for 10 years and I have tried every method out there that I know of to reset it but I cannot connect to the router via WI-FI or rj45 port.

What is a great spiritual replacement for this? Wifi signal strength/distance is a priority and I want to be able to use Merlin with it.

If you want to continue with Asuswrt-Merlin on the new 3006 base - the lowest priced model is RT-BE86U.

Almost guaranteed no new router will have 10+ years of support. RT-AC68U and variants were an exception.

RT-AX86U is two generations old hardware now, locked on 3004 firmware and perhaps 1-2 years before EoL.
