Nest Adds More Intelligence Into Its Newest Security Camera

The new Nest Cam IQ indoor security camera has out-of-the-box intelligent features including Person Alerts that helps differentiate people vs other similar or non-similar objects like shadows and pets, and Supersight, a picture-in-picture function that’s viewable from the app, presenting a 130-degree view along with a zoomed view of a tracked object, all within the same frame.

Other technical features include two-way audio with a three-microphone array, 4K image sensor with 12x digital zoom and HDR, a polycarbonate case design and 128-bit AES encryption. Over-the-air updates also keep the camera updated and secured.

Subscribers to the company’s optional Nest Aware service also get facial recognition and intelligent audio alerts that help extend the camera’s basic surveillance capabilities.

Net Cam IQ can currently be pre-ordered at www.nest.com for $299 in the US. A two-pack is also available for $498.
