My router crashes regularly every 6-7 days, both before and after the last firmware update.
Today the first crach after upgrading 1.00.46, wireless radio off, wps and WiFi LEDs off, Power LED solid orange and LED xDSL white solid.
It needs manual restart by power button.
Last month I remember at least three craches.

Today has crashed twice, both times the NAS connected to the router was using torrent.

I ran the D7800 for weeks without seeing any crashes.
Don't think I've ever saw it crash actually.

I don't use USB storage (on any routers I use) so perhaps that is where the problem lies.

I presume you have done a factory defaults reset and reconfigured from scratch.
If not I'd recommend that first to ensure there's no configuration problem causing it.

No USB pendrive o hard disk connected to my router, only a NAS via ethernet.
On each update I resetting the device and manually entered settings.
