I would like to know whether I would be able to use the new Netgear Orbi Mesh


Please can someone clarifiy

No, mesh technologies are proprietary, and cannot work across different brands.

Yes, you can use Orbi downstream of your Asus. Orbi has an access point mode in the RBRxx and it will still communicate through the RBSxx satellite. Or you can leave the RBRxx as a router but on a different LAN subnet. I have tested both as I had obtained a cast off Orbi that someone had problems with.
Would I purchase an Orbi just for its mesh ability? No. There are other less expensive ways.

I guess the only possible solution will be AI Mesh ?

AiMesh requires two supported Asus routers as well.

Just use the second router in AP mode.
