I know the older Versions of the WNDR3700 have been pretty decent but any reviews on the V4 Model?

Also does anyone know if the LAN LEDs Blink to use? As it seems the v4 is the same board as the WNDR4300 which does NOT blink only lights up if active.

I know the R6200 is AC But wireless is not really a concern. a lot of active LAN clients on a 25Mbps connection and some local Gigabit transfers. But I`ve seen a few bad reviews on the R6200.

Thanks :)

I upgraded to an RT-N66U from the 3700 and have had a customer replace an R6200 (simply died a few days after warranty).

I would not recommend those routers at all.

The performance and reliability of the RT-N66U is in a class of it's own.

I upgraded to the RT-N66U from the Netgear 3700v1. Huge upgrade.

Using the latest RMerlin firmware for the last 4 hours or so, everything feels faster on the 'net - and the small lags and hangs I thought were normal up to now with my ISP seem to be a thing of the past.

Although I haven't tried the v4 model you're interested in, I really doubt that it will be able to rise above the limitations self imposed by NetGear on almost all their products (and I was a firm supporter of NetGear when I upgraded from the previous routers I had).

what took 3 minutes on 3700 takes 1.5 minutes on rtn66 , much faster . transfer rate on 5ghz was 72-76 mbps on 3700 now 98-109 mbps on the rtn66 getting very good results .

I experienced greater performances increases than the poster quoted above.

As for the blinking LAN LED's - do you want that 'feature' or not? :)

Well I already own a RT-N66U I keep having random bugs/issues here and there, on Both Stock and Merlin

I wasn't specifically recommending the RT-N66U... the links I provided are from almost a year ago.

What I'm suggesting is that a more current Asus router would be better than the Netgear models you're considering.
