[New Download]: Stable entware minidlna without penguin-icon

Hexabion

ryzhovau from entware made this for me today (I owe him a million thanks), seems to be much more stable than the bundled / inbuilt one, and doesnt have the penguin-icon for those of you who like the normal router-icon instead when it shows on your TV-set:

You need entware installed to use it offcourse.

Telnet to your router, then:

cd /opt/tmp
wget http://entware.wl500g.info/binaries/entware/archive/minidlna_1.1.4-1b_entware.ipk
opkg install ./minidlna_1.1.4-1b_entware.ipk
opkg flag hold minidlna

Thats it.

A full step-by-step here for those of you who dont have entware installed yet:

Just as an FYI....the latest Merlin builds also contain 1.1.4 (I'm not what level it got picked up in since it was included in an ASUS merge)

How does this compare to TeHashX version here?

Anyway, thanks Ryzhoval! :)

Non-penguin-version: Is Entware, stable and no penguin-icon.

Entware version: is Entware, and 100% identical, but with penguin icon

TeHashX version: That version is debian, runs under debian, so no idea how it compares really. My guess its just as stable and good.

Asus/bundled version: Completely bonkers and unstable, avoid at all cost.

I'm using the latest FW with the inbuilt 1.1.4.1 (which I had to disable/turn off because its unstable, crashes randomly aswell as when doing to much other operations), which is the reason in the first place why I begged Ryzhoval to make an entware version, just without the penguin icon.

All the versions are 1.1.4.1, but compiled for different enviroments. The 1.1.4.1 that comes with the FW bundled, has some fixes/patches and customizations especially for ASUS, meaning its not the official version, and accordingly something bugs it, it has memory leaks, hogs tcp-packets / synflooding and hogs the cpu if used simultaniously with transmission and fileoperations (be it native or samba, doesnt matter).

The ASUS-FW version isnt entware, and is compiled for native asuswrt enviroment i think (?)

Point is, the enware version runs smooth as silk from the breasts of a kantoneese goatspider, the inbuilt FW-bundled version doesn't (for many, myself included).

It working well with MKV and AVI, but cannot display any RMVB file.

Is there any things I setting wrong?

Thanks again
