New firmware alerts?

I thought I had read somewhere that it is possible to receive e-mail alerts when new Merlin firmware becomes available, but if that's true, I certainly can't remember how to set it up. Can anyone advise please?

One method I know is by utilizing a notification function in Diversion. You can select "c" -> "4. Firmware update notification" -> "1. Enable"

Is there any way to do this? I also use Apprise, and Gotify, if those are available?
