new Traffic Analyzer and JFFS

JunKhaos

New Around Here
I just upgrade the firmware on my RT-AC87U to 378.51 Merlin. This firmware has the new traffic analyzer which require the JFFS partition to be enable.

I was wondering how much effect does it has on the flash RAM. Does this feature cause it to wear out faster? What is being written to the partition with this feature being on?

Thank you in advance.

On an absolute scale, yes it will wear out faster.

But not at a rate that will decrease the expected lifespan of the router by any great degree.

The NAND Asus uses is rated for over 10K P/E cycles, so I wouldn't worry about it. Your router will become obsolete before that happens.
