How would it compare to TS-453 pro? Which is a tad cheaper!

You probably right! the difference is that the Mini looks cooler I guess ..From a HW perspective, they're pretty much same - you lose the LCD Panel, which might be important to some folks.
SW should be right about the same... it's just a different spin on the TS-x53 series...
Valid point I must say ,I ll have to wait and seeFor some folks, appearance is a major factor...
My worry is the plastic drive bays, but this is a minor nit perhaps... the other concern would be that going from a well-known horizontal stack to a more vertical stack - what's the cooling going to be like - since the mainboard is on the bottom, one might see some heat-soak into the drives compared to the TS-453Pro and TS-451...
vertical mount - heat rises? More convection, less fanning?
