NORDVPN VPN Director Status Check

tom76017

New Around Here
I'm running NORDVPN Client on my RT-BE86U. I've activated the service via VPN Director on some of my Debian servers. Is there a way to confirm that the vpn is working? Running traceroute for Google.com gives me an "non" result for an active vpn. Running traceroute on a WAN connected server gives me a real result.

This appears to be a way to validate that the vpn is active on the selected device. Is there a better way?

Code:
curl checkip.amazonaws.com

P.S. What is "non" result compared to a real result?
Here's a non:

traceroute to google.com (192.0.0.88), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 192.168.11.1 (192.168.11.1) 14.517 ms 14.486 ms 14.458 ms
