Not showing in File Explorer

Have a DS111 and a DS212j on our home network. RT-N66u router, all computers Win 8.1 pro x64. Both Diskstations running DSM 4.3-3827 Update 7.

For some reason today the 2 NASs don't show up in Win 8.1 File Explorer Network listing on the left side but the icons for them are on the right side. When I double click on them it opens the web page to log into the NAS.

None of the computers on the network can access them when trying to use programs like VLC to play movies or music from the NAS boxes.

have rebooted both Diskstations but that hasn't fixed the problem. Logging into either shows no problems.

Any suggestions as to how to get them to be accessed again from programs in Windows?

Did you recently turned on the UPnP?

I've had this, when things go wrong in a windows PC LAN, with the "Master Browser". Usually, the master seems to be the first computer that can't find the master by broadcast or some such. I've never understood it well.
