New Around Here
Due to a temporary (and emergency) situation, I have to work with a Dell Precision 690 desktop from 2009, too far away from my home router to use the Ethernet port.
Since this old Dell has only 2 PCI-X slots available, I guess I will have to use a USB wireless adapter to access the Internet. My past experiences with these kind of small antennas were very bad but maybe the technology has improved a lot in the past few years.
Is there a rock-solid product for this kind of problem?
Unless you tell me that PCI-X still exists?

I would not spend money on that old of PC. I recently bought a Dell 9020 for $125. I bet if you look you could find one with wireless.

If you have coax nearby there is always MOCA. Otherwise, just get a USB adapter with an external antenna.
