? on Xfinity 1 Gig home setup

Getting Xfinity 1 Gig for home use. Purchased the ARRIS - SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem along with the Google Wifi - 3 Pack-------The Comcast store / Xfinity store says I should use their " wireless " " pods " that plug into the wall electrical outlets. Which is better ?

Comcast / Xfinity lists the modems that are 1 Gig compatible with their install. They do list the Arris described above. Should I use a different modem that Comcast/Xfinity sells with their in wall electrical socket router amplification pods ?

There is no "better" choice as the right choice for you depends on your personal circumstances. If you are fairly knowledgeable about networking, you might prefer different equipment than Xfinity and/or may prefer to buy vs rent.

Perhaps the most important trade-off is that Xfinity is on the hook to make their equipment work while you are on the hook to make your equipment work. Pick your poison.
