One IP address..Remote Access to 3 devices (WHS, Slingbox, Avermedia PC DVR)

I recently added a security system with remote access to security video from my home network. I am able to use the remote access all three devices (WHS, Slingbox, Avermedia DVR NV5000...Win7Pro PC) when each is being used/turned on separately (via port forwarding on my NETGEAR wndr-3700).

My problem exists when all three devices are running on the network at the same time. My router only enables port forwarding to one IP address per port number. Port 80 is required for WHS and the other devices use the same port (although at least one is configurable to something else I think).

My switch is a Dlink DGS-1224 (supports VLAN & port Mirroring) but I am thoroughly confused as to whether or not one of these capabilities will help me (after many days/weeks of reading SNB, DSL reports, etc etc).

Also, a second question (not as important at the moment ) is on using a DNS. I have a dyndns.org account set-up (WHS does not support this DNS, Netgear router & DVR do) for now, I've been typing IP address, but would like to avoid doing this if possible.

If one of the incredibly smart people on this forum would be so kind as to point me in the right direction here, I would be forever indebted for your kindness :)

First of all, i recommend to download and install latest firmware available. Second thought - try to read this: http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/11640. Maybe it will help you.

Also, if you need to use port 80 on few devices on the same time, you need to map

port 80 app.A to port 1080 router ext. IP,
port 80 app.B to port 1081 router ext. IP,
port 80 app.C to port 1082 router ext. IP,

and so on. Only this setting will be working.

And what's the problem? Did you read this article?

I am still not sure of the solution you recommend.

Thank you for pointing me to the KB...If I had been able to find an answer there I would not have posted on this board.

Port mapping...is not the same as port forwarding, or is it?

My DNS question is related to the router and WHS both ask for the DNS account info, but only one supports dyndns.org. How can i use a DNS server in this situation?

Similar, or think of it as port redirecting. Assuming you can customize the port from the "client" software that you will be remove viewing with (most camera monitoring software I've setup/worked with does allow this)

Then post relevant pictures of your web-interface with configuration, so we can see your problems.

Regarding DNS - you have one public IP address, which is traslated into your home network through NAT. So you can have inside as many adresses as you want. These will be "grey" or private IP.

If you want to get an remote access to devices in your network, you need translate corresponding ports of your devices to your external IP address. Like this:

PC 192.168.1.11 port 80 have to be translated to 11.12.13.123 port 1080
Server 192.168.10 port 80 have to be translated to 11.12.13.123 port 1081

If you want to use DNS you can use external address of you router. Register it on dyndns and instead of typing 11.12.13.123 you wil be typing something like this myhome.dyndns-home.com.

Every device in your network can be mapped to a single external IP address with almost any port. And you need to register on dyndns only one device - your router.

If I understand correctly what you want ^__^ And sorry if you already know all of what I have said.
