I'm moving my Openvpn server instance over to my Asus router. I've got everything working but had some questions regarding the gui interface and what it puts in the ccd file contents. It's not what I had expected and am wondering what others would recommend to use for my situation.
I'm referring to the 'Allowed Clients' section of the advanced openvpn server configuration options. (Username, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Push, Add/Delete)
I originally thought the IP and subnet mask were for assigning static IP's for the allowed clients, but after looking at the configuration files it is actually an iroute statement being generated from the entries.
For most of my clients I do not wish to route the lan they are connecting from. What values would be recommended in the IP address field? It's a bummer that an entry has to be made as it is very convenient to limit the clients allowed to connect via the gui interface but I don't want client lan's routed and it's adding a bunch of unnecessary route statements to the router based on those entries.
