The VPN connections is getting always terminated after been established for 60 minutes and the router log reads:

openvpn[982]: ERROR: could not read Auth username from stdin
openvpn[982]: Exiting due to fatal error.

VPN customs settings are:

mute 20
float
route-method exe
route-delay 2
auth-retry interact
explicit-exit-notify 2
ifconfig-nowarn
auth-nocache

any idea why the VPN connection terminates always exactly after 60 min?

seems to be a longstanding bug with auth-nocache in OpenVPN and been fixed only recently (as of 4 weeks ago).

Thus wondering whether/when the patch will make it into the Asus/Merlin firmware?

N.B. The TLS Renegotiation Time (in seconds, -1 for default) is set in the route OpenVPN setting to -1. Is -1 thus equal to 60 min / 3,600 seconds? Or is -1 determined by the OpenVPN server?
