OpenVPN clients cannot access LAN hosts

New Around Here
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Normally I've been able to find my answers by searching, but not on this one...

I have a single OpenVPN server instance on my RT-AC68U, with a single client connected. I can connect the client and browse the internet no problem through the tunnel, but I cannot access any of my LAN hosts.

Any thoughts on what I might have set up wrong?

Dammit, maybe I need to investigate further. I can ping other hosts, just not the one I was using for testing. I'll have to check the config on that device to see what might be going on.

Some Windows clients will not respond to ping depending on firewall setup. I recall a Win XP Home firewall not responding to ping by default.

Yeah, I've seen that before, but this is a QNAP NAS. Figured that of all of my LAN hosts, it would be the one to reply to pings, as it has no firewall. But my VOIP adapter responds no problem, just not the NAS.

You might look at the firewall setting associated with the VPN server and set it to Automatic. That corrected the issue when I had a similar issue.

The setting is located in the VPN section, VPN Details tab.

@pilotboy72: I think I had it set to Automatic, but I will check. I tend not to mess with settings like that, at least at first.

@overdrive31: The NAS is online, as confirmed by my wife at home :) Good point though.

Wow... I'm not so swift sometimes...
The NAS had OpenVPN configured as well, with the same VPN subnet configured, so of course it's internal routes were set up for the 10.8.0.0/24 subnet on its internal interfaces.
So, I kinda wish I didn't post my question, but thanks all for your help. Pretty active community here. :)
