I'm not sure what I've missed, but I tried setting up my RT-AC66U (running 3.0.0.4.374_39 Merlin's build) to use my private internet access login. I tried the steps here. But to no avail. Below is the output from the log window. The last 7 lines just repeat over and over. Any idea what I may have missed?

I entered in the proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com in the address field and I am trying the generated login/pwd you can create on pia's site.

You are trying to use proxy login for actual VPN login?

Which service do you have with PIA - VPN or Proxy?

Two things:
Step 8 - You don't need anything in the custom config box.
After step 15 you are done and ready to turn on the client.
You do not have to generate any new passwords, you use the same username and password that you signed up with.

that's exactly what was my concern - using proxy passwords for VPN...

there is a section on their site where they say:

PPTP/L2TP/SOCKS Username and Password (Optional)
Please use the following button to generate or re-generate a username and password for use with PPTP/L2TP/SOCKS.

and:

SOCKS5 Proxy [!]
Although quite different from a VPN, we provide a SOCKS5 Proxy with all accounts in the event users require this feature.

SOCKS5 Proxy
proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com port 1080

and you can generate a separate login/pwd to use with their proxy server, which is available to use when you get service. so you'd be using a proxy pwd with the proxy.

I'll give your steps a shot. thanks for the help :)

If you can't get it working post some screenshots.
