Dear All,
I have recently installed Merlin on my AC68U as I needed a lightweight MySQL and WEB Server. SO now I am using Merling 380.69_2 which is a wonderful solution to not have an additional HW set up for the purpose!
Up until then I was using the stock firmware and I never experienced the followings what I do experience now:
- OpenVPN Server I find sometimes is stopped
- the shares on my external HDD on my USB3 port are missing (though the disk is shown mounted when I log in)
-Earlier I had my router rebooted once a week, now I reboot it every night (I thought the MySQL is eating up resources) - though as it seems each day there's one of the 2 issues happening for the last 4 days.
-I don't see anything in the system logs.
-When OpenVPN server is in stopped state I see on the settings page "Initialinzing the settings of OpenVPN server now, please wait a few minutes to let the server to setup completed before VPN clients establish the connection."
-when HDD shares are missing I don't see any issues in the router admin page. I also have a stick in the USB2 port - that never has this problem.
-openVPN server has an easy fix - turn off/on in the admin page (though I do not enable webaccess (for security reasons) so if I realise that it is not running is usually because I am trying to use it and then I need to get back home)
-HDD it seems that router restart does not solve this problem, I have to unmount, physically detach and attach, though it might be a solution too to unmount and then reboot ( I cannot confirm yet though)
-I really dont know what to look for in the system logs it does not have much detail...
I now rebooted my router 3 times manually: first 2 times: HDD USB3 mounted but shares not available, 3rd time shares are available (I unmounted the disk however before reboot) but OpenVPN Server not running.
