Quick question on OpenVPN server... I was reviewing my syslog to see connections that i'd made from a remote network, and discovered a couple of attempted connections from IP addresses I did not recognize. I have configured the server to use the certificate and a username with a strong password. How safe is it to leave the server running? I can see where the remote end tried to spoof the SID (121212 121212) in the log. They were not successful at connecting to my VPN however. Anyone else notice this or am I just the lucky one? LOL

If you run your VPN server on a standard port then you can expect to see constant attempts to access or scan it. Change the server so that it doesn't use a common port number.
