I have setup OpenVPN on my router and phone. I can connect no issue and ping devices with network info below
VPN subnet: 192.168.3.0/24
Router subnet: 192.168.1.0/24

I manually added a route for 192.168.3.0/24 to hit 192.168.1.1
I did an iptables to allow ALL for 192.168.3.o/24 to 192.168.1.0/24 and vice versa.

Ping works between devices on 192.168.3.0 and 192.168.1.0 subnets in either direction but no protocols like ssh, http, ftp etc work. Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

I do want to comment that when using IPsec it would work flawless, but for some reason my router has a heart attack every 24 hours and the IPsec crashes ever since i enabled IPv6 or DDNS SSL as those were the only changes I made.
