• MediaTek MT7981B (Filogic 820) SoC

That CPU won't break any speed record. Would be interesting to see what kind of throughput it can achieve if you enable Cake on it.

I don't like this "marketing first" design. It can be fixed easily, but not done. Where is up to 2.3Gbps WAN traffic going? Aggregate LAN/WLAN traffic only, eventually. They could offer more GbE LAN ports with internal 2.5GbE uplink at least or a single 2.5GbE LAN port on an external controller. I have a few devices* with this type of design, I knew what I'm getting, fits my needs and the price was right, but still don't get it...

* - GL-MT2500 - a wired gateway with 2.5GbE WAN and single GbE LAN (??)
* - UCG-Ultra - a wired gateway with 2.5GbE WAN, 4x GbE LAN and GbE uplink to the internal switch (??)
