Hi Everyone,

I have an RT-AC88U router running the latest Merlin.

I'm aware of the ability to limit access to 'streaming' services as a whole but was wondering if there was a way (via SSH?) or a future feature where the router will be able to time limit access to categories?

What I'm trying to achieve is allow my kid x number of minutes per day access to streaming services but once that has been accumulated to a set limit over a 24 hour limit then block access to that but not block other access. Or just allow me to limit the period of time when these categories are available.

I want my kid to still be able to use the internet for school work (OneDrive, email, google research) but cut off the distractions.

many thanks
Justin

I think that's a brillant idea but I don't you can do this. I think it's better if you manage it yourself. you can remotely connect to router and manually block it. You might want them to do their homework first before games. Give them a schedule.

The only option is scheduled time slots for internet access.

Parental controls are closed source so Merlin can't touch them.
