New Around Here
I have 2 Asus XT8 devices.

One of the devices is connected to an ADSL modem and serves as the main router.
The other is on the second floor and works as a node and connects to the main router via WI-FI.

The node is connected to the PC via a cable and the Meta Quest 3 via WI-FI.

As you know, PCVR requires a high bandwidth between the PC and the VR device.

  1. How does the traffic go from PC to Quest 3 through my network?
  2. Is it always works through the main router?
  3. And how can I optimize my network?

The traffic between the Quest and the PC goes via the node only (example 2). It does not go via the main router.

Then why is the bandwidth not as high as expected?

IPerf3:

PC <---> Node = 935 Mbit/s
Node <---> MacBook = about 800 Mbit/s.
PC <---> Node <----> MacBook = about 300 Mbit/s.

I'd be surprised if it is going via the router. But I don't have an XT8 so perhaps it's different than the other Asus routers. Are you connecting to the guest wifi rather than the main wifi?
