I have spent a couple of days trying to get the FTP server working but I cannot get past the first hurdle, my rt-n66u will not mount the drive.

I downloaded some PC software and eventually managed to format the drive to Ext2, I then plugged it into the router and it lit up, so did the blue USB light and the USB symbol on the management console is also lit.

I can scan the drive for problems, it finds nothing.

I tried to install download master, it fails, no USB drive detected.

Help help help.

Nearly 3 Days on this now and still I have no idea why it will not mount the disc.

Thank you.

Bob.

Try reformatting the drives as NTFS or FAT unless there is a specific reason you want or need Ext2/Ext3.

We'll the instructions for FTP setup says it must be Ext2 which difficult to do. I have tried with other drives Ext3 and fat 32 but none of them will mount.

Really really baffled.

Solution found

We'll trying different data sticks etc. I accidentally caught the reset button and had to enter all my settings by hand once again. But, having done that the router would mount data sticks without a problem. Still don't know what was wrong though.
