PLS PLS PLS need a firmware for GT-5300

Please can we have some kind of firmware for the GT-5300... this is the ONLY router you can get in Australia of this kind, you can not get the RT here.. and now the NBN FTTC , you have NO choice but to use VLAN ID assignments when connecting to a PPPoE WAN. So essentially without it, my GT-5300 is a huge BRICK as I can not use it for my internet any longer. VLAN ID 2 needs to be set on the WAN Internet before I can get a connection.

Nothing stopping you from buying online from somewhere like eBay, you will also save a few hundred dollars in the process compared to the significantly marked up prices in stores locally.

Also as per the stickied thread in this subforum;

Yeh.. I read the sicky... but there is lots stopping you... ie shipping to AUS doesn't happen like it does in the US... most of the time it's totally blocked and we are locked out from shipping stuff here.

Not sure where you are getting this info from. I also live in Australia and have no issues buying Asus products from eBay or other online marketplaces.

I just did a quick search, found several online places in Aus with stock.

If it's just a VLAN ID you need, you could just get a cheap managed gigabit switch and keep your router.
