Hi, Can someone please explain the difference between the two. The reason I ask is due to having two xboxs on the same network, and I am only able too have one set of port forwarding rules for one xbox. While the other xbox cannot share those rules. At that point is better to have the port triggering enabled instead of port forwarding so they can both benefit from using those ports? Or should i have one set of port forwarded rules for one xbox and place the other Xbox in the DMZ? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject, I am only a gamer who is looking for clarification. Thanks in advance

The XBox should not need any manual port forwarding or port triggering.

Prior to making port forwarding rules i would be entered into online games late and experience disconnects often or minor "lag outs" (example I would be playing halo and it would randomly freeze up and other players would begin to ice skate, then it would only respawn me and no other players" . Once I implemented the rule I have encountered no problems thus far.

Doesn't the XBox use UPnP for port forwarding? At least I know the PS3 does.

I'm also saying this because, so far, all the port forwarding guides I ever saw for the XBox were totally wrong, where they would be forwarding ports 80 and 53, when these ports should only be used in outgoing, not incoming connections.
