I have a printer that can only operate on G, but I don't want the network everything else in my house runs on to rely on G and would rather they run at N. I've tried configuring two SSIDs and configuring them separately. I setup one called SSID-G and one called SSID-N with the appropriate settings, however only one seems to broadcast at a time. I'm running 3.0.0.4.279.26 (Merlin).

Any ideas on how I can achieve these? I also thought about setting up a separate guest network and allowing it intranet access, but that's just piggybacking on whatever network I currently have enabled.

No need to worry about any of that. Set your wireless mode to Auto. G clients will connect at G speed and N clients will connect at N speeds. I have to do this as well as my sons PS3 only has wireless G, all of my N clients run at N speeds just fine.

You were right. I was overthinking it when I assumed a G client would drop all my speeds to G. I guess that's the whole reason I bought a dual band, but I assumed there was some more manual intervention than that. I appreciate it!

Hi,
Dumb question, but have you saved the change in setting you made?
