I just got an Asus RT-AC68 and installed 378.55 and started playing around with appending stuff to config files with the .add configs for passwd/group etc. I want to add a user to the system. Unfortunately this does not seem to work. I cleaned the nvram and jffs, which did not help. Additional experimenting has left me with the opinion that currently only non-blocking scripts run - for example I can successfully echo to a temporary file from init-start and services-start, but I don't get anything from pre/post-mount. Interestingly the echo to a temp file works from init-start, but syslog only has the custom script entry for services-start.
From the forums I found the following post for pretty much the same issue:

Unfortunately inserting a sleep into the mount scripts does not do anything for my router(I currently think they don't run) and the only scripts that do work are non-blocking, so a sleep there does not delay the boot process.
Any thoughts?
