New Around Here
I am looking into buying one of the new Homeplug AV2 powerline adapter kits. I am considering the Zyxel PLA5405, TRENDnet's TPL-420E2K and the D-Link DHP-701AV kits. The D-Link does not come with a utility to monitor the adapters and estimate network speed (I'm not sure about the Zyxel either). Is there a "generic" utility that I can download that will identify the adapters and allow me to measure the estimated speed so I can optimize the location for the devices?

Thanks

Not sure if there is a third party utility to give this information. I use TP-Link and the only info it gives me is the data link rate between adapters. I would presume all companies software utility would at least give you the link rate. Just remember the further away the adapter is from the main adapter your signal will be lower. At least that's what I see in my home testing. Good luck.
