Oh on a side note

I used to run a second openwrt ap that handled dhcp and dns
and recently decided to do away with it so i have the ac66u doing dhcp now

I have always used 28 day dhcp lease's for some reason the max on
asuswrt is 7days (604800)

The router handles larger leases fine i set it up via the command prompt/nvram
for 28days (2419200) and its all fine but ofc i cant change any setting in the dhcp server page
due to it moaning about the dhcp lease time

Can i put a request in for the web interface to allow larger dhcp leases plz
ofc no rush but would be nice to have

example of 28days working fine.

Why don't you use static DHCP?

And, yes, PPTP does not work for me either in 378.54_1. Can't even establish connection.

PPTP server? PPTP client? What's in your system log?

I'll need much more info than this to even begin to have any idea as to what could be the problem, if there is.

Why would i want to go around messing with static ip's on 60+ devices

when i can set perm reservations and give them 28day leases
each device will call home every 14 days and renew its "static lease"

Why don't you use static DHCP?

And, yes, PPTP does not work for me either in 378.54_1. Can't even establish connection.

All looks good and has been working for months with zero problems
apart from since the 6065 merge
i have totally deleted the source and did a fresh pull to ensure it wasnt a local problem
i also did a factory reset of the router nvram to ensure it wasnt something nvram related

dial in from the router looks good
this is mips rt-ac66u btw

i have an ac56u running a build pre 6065 merge Thu Jun 4 05:25:31 UTC 2015
and pptp still works fine

I have always had the windows machine dial in to my lan and not use the default gateway
as its just for lan traffic
e.g. it uses its own connection for any traffic apart from smb and such

Umm it seems to have been some weird bug

the device dials in and doesnt use the default gateway as its just for local traffic
e.g. smb and such
the same setup has been fine for months

Dialed in with default gateway unticked = not working (same config thats been used for months)
Dialed in and ticked use default gateway = worked fine
Dialed in with default gateway unticked = worked fine

not really sure what to say it is a bug but not sure how using the default gateway fixed it
as it shouldnt have
