PPTP VPN Android

I have never been able to get an Android device to connect to a PPTP VPN setup on Asuswrt-Merlin. Windows PCs connect fine, but just not Android devices, such as my Nexus 5 running 4.4.
Is it possible to get it working?

After struggling with PPTP VPN for awhile, I tried OPEN VPN and it has been rock solid reliable on Windows, Mac, and Android. It's also more secure...you may want to give it a shot.

Can you post your openvpn config server/client

OP-

I am not running Asuswrt-Merlin (running stock firmware) but I was able to get the PPTP running. What worked for me is you have to set up a few inbound rules for the ports to make it through Windows Firewall for the pc you are trying to connect to.
