Apple have stopped supporting the ability to access any router such as ASUS ones using PPTP VPN server with iOS 10 .
I found this ability very useful using the ASUS DDNS service.
Does anybody know how to get round this problem now?

Break down the wall (ed garden). Escape while you can. :)

Use OpenVPN. It's supported by most of Asus's mid and high-end routers.

And the OpenVPN client on iOS works pretty well - the bonus there is that it's free - and like free beer, that's very good indeed...

Like RMerlin and sfx2000 pointed out, try OpenVPN, it's free and more secure than pptp, which has known vulnerabilities.
