Hi Guys,
my ISP is using some sort of NAT, so that my RT-AC56U can not see my real WAN-IP but a different IP. None of the integrated DDNS options can work around this, so I have to use an application on one of my machines. No big problem.
When I am setting up the OpenVPN Server on the Router and export the OpenVPN configuration file, I have to manually change the address afterwards in this file. I then copy the file to the smartphone and import it into the official OpenVPN Connect app and for some time now, I got problems.
Everything works fine if I am connected through Mobile Data...
But when I want to connect through my own Wi-Fi, OpenVPN will not connect! In the log of the OpenVPN-app, I can see that it tries to connect to the IP which only the router can see but which is not reachable and will not work. So it must be that my router combines my external DDNS-Address and that IP address, which is not working and therefore useless. Back in the days I could use the OpenVPN app regardless how I was connected.
I hope someone could take a look at this.
Sorry for my bad English.
