I had to wipe the jffs partition (to get rid of dnscrypt), but I copied into Notepad++ all the OpenVPN keys and certs using Edit on the Advanced OpenVPN server page beforehand.
I set the EOL Conversion to Unix in Notepad++ and copied the keys and certs back after formatting the jffs partition.
But someting’s not right:

2018-08-24 10:01:56 EVENT: CERT_VERIFY_FAIL mbed TLS: SSL read error : X509 - Certificate verification failed, e.g. CRL, CA or signature check failed [ERR]

Most grateful for any ideas on where I went wrong. Unix is the correct Notepad++ EOL setting?
Perhaps there’s a file/folder with the credentials that I could WinSCP across from the old jffs to the reformatted one?
