New Around Here
I recently purchased and setup the Promise SmartStor 4600n and the DLNA plugin was working fine when streaming to my Xbox 360 until a few days ago. The NAS is no longer showing up under list of valid computers on my Xbox 360. When I go to the PASM and check the plugins, the DLNA plugin and version number is missing (see Issue1.jpg). I figured I would try to delete the DLNA plugin and see if installing the latest DLNA plugin for the 4300 would work but it will not let me delete the plugin (see Issue2.jpg). I have verified that I can hit the DLNA webpage (see dlna.jpg). I have a ticket open with Promise, but after seeing some posts where other people's tickets took forever for an answer, I figured I'd post something here and perhaps PromiseDude or somebody else can point me in the right direction of getting the 4600n to stream to my Xbox 360 again.

Let me know if I need to elaborate on any settings, configurations, etc.

Don't delete the plug-in because there isn't one to download at this time yet.
PromiseDude told me that the SR1 is coming so be patient. I deleted BT plug-in and now I am stuck waiting for the new release.

ttran55,

How long ago was that promise made?

The latest chasis firmware for the NS2300N and NS4300N was released just a couple of days ago and is available from the Promise website.

If you are referring to a new DLNA plugin, I wouldn't hold my breath. The last formal release was Build 7. I have a copy of Build 8 (BETA), which does an excellent job but was never made public. I am also aware that there is a Build 9 (BETA) floating around, which was supposed to be built on a the "latest and greatest" DLNA stack. However, according to reports I've had, it has the same issues experienced with earlier versions of the DLNA plugin.

If you are running a NS4300N or NS2300N the latest firmware coupled with the Build 8 DLNA plugin is about as good as it (currently) gets.

Cheers,
BuckoNZ
