Does any one know if its possible to set up a automatic back up of a Qnap shared folder to another share folder on HP MediaSmart running Windows Home Server? Both devices are on same network.

Everything I've read only talks about using USB and or another Qnap.

The MediaSmart has an option to backup each share on a drive which is not part of the storage pool using NTFS which would allow it to be read by any windows PC. If the Qnap had this option that work too.

Yep, using ftp, go to Backup station, Remote Replication, RTRR, Create replication job, and enter the local -> remote dirs.

The ftp server on the other machine will be used.

If the HP supports rsync, that can be used instead, but using ftp will certainly work.
