Created for SOHO and SMB market, the TS-x53B series comes in 2-bay, 4-bay and 6-bay models (pictured above). Aside from having USB-C, the new NAS line-up also offers a PCIe slot that can be used to add an additional Ethernet/Wi-Fi card or PCIe storage – QNAP’s example included the company’s own QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE LAN combo card.

The tower-based TS-x53B series runs QNAP’s QTS 4.3 embedded Linux OS that includes a catalog of apps and features that serve up services small businesses and enthusiasts would be interested in, such as IoT, backup, email management, surveillance and virtualization.

The lineup of TS-x53B models include the TS-253B-4G/8G (2-bay, 4GB/8GB DDR3L RAM), TS-453B-4G/8G (4-bay, 4GB/8GB DDR3L RAM), and TS-653B-4G/8G (6-bay, 4GB/8GB DDR3L RAM). Each model uses a quad-core Intel Celeron J3455 CPU, dual-channel DDR3L SODIMM RAM (Max 8 GB), and hot-swappable SATA HDDs/SSDs. Inputs on the TS-x53B series include two GbE ports, two HDMI v1.4 ports, five USB 3.0 type A ports and a USB-C QuickAccess port. A remote control is also included.

QNAP’s TS-x53B series is available now. QNAP did not give any pricing, however all three models are available on Amazon from QNAP, starting at $549 for the 2-bay, $669 for the 4-bay, and $849 for the 6-bay models.
