I'm thinking about setting up my first NAS with a QNAP TS-112 and a 2TB drive. Has anyone any experience with the TS-112 or recommendations for a 2TB drive?

Performance is not critical, the NAS will be used mostly by Timemachine to backup my mac and possibly as a media server for my music collection.

Thanks

I recommend going with the dual drive TS-212 over the single drive TS-112, use it in RAID1. Put two 2TB drives in there, it'll work great.

I'm in the camp that says RAID is not a substitute for a backup copy of all data.
So an external eSATA or slow LAN backup copy is prudent, and can make a single drive NAS prudent, if you have automated/frequent backup. The TS-112 does, as I read it, have eSATA.

As I look at these low-end NAS, I'm leaning towards those that have more than 256MB of RAM, as does the TS-112 and others.
