Dumb question about QoS.
For QoS, there's a section where you can set Download and Upload Bandwidth.
Is that value meant for the max bandwidth the QoS will provide to each device? Or is that the max value the QoS will divide from and provide to each device?
Situation is that I find that when my computer downloads updates for games, it hogs the entire bandwidth of the internet, and all other devices will feel like the internet died. Can't load websites.
I could set specific limit to my own PC, or set bandwidth limit on Steam for downloads, but technically this could happen to any device in my network hogging the internet. So I'm looking to set an overall max bandwidth ANY device can use of the internet, so I have some overheads for the other devices when one device is hogging internet.
So does that mean I should set the bandwidth value to be lesser than my full internet bandwidth? (ie my max is 500, so I should set 400 download here, so that there'll be 100 left for the others)
Thanks.
