QOS Live Monitoring W/ Port number

xhaloz

New Around Here
I love Asus Merlin but I can't switch to it because Advanced Tomato has a QOS details screen that I really need. This screen shows all traffic going across the router with the application PORT number as well. The issue with Advanced Tomato is that it is NOT stable and thus I want to use Asus Merlin. Here is a screenshot of such.
As you can see it gives you the protocol, source port, and destination ports....along with other information. When my wife is using something like Twitch, I can easily look up the port numbers for Twitch to QOS that traffic. The problem is, it is almost NEVER what the website says it is. This QOS details page allows me to see exactly what the port is in order for me to QOS it and then see that it was QOS'ed by the CLASS column on the right. Anyway we can do this with ASUS Merlin?

I'd have to see how they implement it, but I doubt it can be done, especially with Adaptive QoS where I have very little control over how it operates, and Traditional QoS being broken on the majority of models anyway.

Note that you can already see a list of active TCP/UDP sessions already, which you can use to track down port or IP addresses. Just not which class it gets associated to.

I figured out why Tomato was unstable. I was using a proxy server which ruined the presentation of my menus. I've been doing networks for the Air Force for around 10 years now, so Asus Merlin isn't exactly as granular as I would like it. It seems more catered for the masses and the average user. Adaptive QOS is a cool feature but I want control over my router. I'll stick with Tomato on my R7000 for now. The interface isn't pretty but it has a ton of control and data. Thank you!

I want to make it clear, I really WANT to use MERLIN I just need that specific information in order to properly QOS my router. Thank you for all your support you're amazing. If you can get this feature, I'd gladly donate $100 bucks towards your development.

Until Asus fixes Traditional QoS, there's unfortunately little point in devoting time on that QoS mode as it's not working properly anyway.

Ah so do you let them do the coding and then you piggy back that code with your own modifications?

Pretty much, yes. I merge their GPL releases whenever they release one, and I keep working on top of that code.
