Qualified Sling Customers Get Early Access To Cloud DVR Beta

Beginning in December, the new Sling cloud service will be available to customers who subscribe to Sling’s single- and multi-stream services, Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Sling beta testers using Roku streaming products and Roku TVs will be able to simultaneously record content, pause, rewind, fast-forward through movies, episodes and full series on select channels.

Per Sling, the cloud DVR program will be customer driven as input from the beta community will be used to add and shape future features. For example, current space management for cloud DVR is simplified as the service automatically deletes older watched content to make way for newer incoming content. Future releases of Sling’s cloud DVR service will eventually add storage upgrade options and retention features that will protect customers’ recorded content.
