New Around Here
First of all thank you to anyone that can answer my questions for me I really appreciate it. :) I am of course VERY NEW to this forum so hopefully someone can help a newbie like me. :) I am looking install this firmware on my router and am just wondering something:

Does it have a web history where it will record all website URL's to USB of computer or other devices that use my router when connected to it?

Also, when flashing this firmware will I need to redo everything such as Router name, key, etc or will it automatically just switch everything over.

Sorry if these are newb questions I am somewhat familiar to routers and firmware but not as familiar as I am sure a lot of people are but I am willing to learn as much as I can. :)

So thanks for all help! :)

Oh one last thing is this where I would download the latest firmware of this for my router?: http://sourceforge.net/projects/asuswrt-merlin/files/RT-N66U/Release/ and obviously choosing this: RT-N66U_380.57_0.zip?
Just want to make sure! :D Thanks for the custom firmware been looking for something stable and this seems to be. ;)

alias, I am unaware of any such functionality on any WRT firmware. But I am sure that there is a way for you to acquire the skill and make it yourself in one way or another. If you search relevant forums you will probably find such information. I don't think there is any firmware available either Merlin or other that does that right now though.

When flashing a new firmware it's almost always recommended that you reset your router. Many firmware's will reset settings as well so that you will be required to change them again.

There are several mirror-sites for downloading Merlin. You should always double-check yourself if it is the correct.

Good Luck!

No, such feature is not available in the router firmware.
But you can achieve something similar by using OpenDNS as your DNS server (setup a free account and just enter the OpenDNS DNS IP adresses in your routers configuration WAN page).

Then you can login and lookup the full history of all Domains visited over time from your home!

Well, it's not always mandatory, but if you do a big jump e.g. older firmware or different fork then you should always do a factory reset AFTER the installation of the new firmware. To avoid to need to re-key all the settings, you can use John's tool to save the USER settings and to restore them after firmware change - you only need to have a Linux formatted USB-Stick attached to the router for it.

This will ensures that you have reset all the hidden (firmware dependent) settings and still have your configuration restored easily!

That's correct!
