Questions for RT-AC87U

So. I have RT-AC87U. And i see Merlin have stable build . so i want to flash it.but i wanna ask. If i can just flash and just factory reset? And are all options working fine like no bugs? And i see merlin change the mW on TX right? So 100% means diffrent mW then orig right? Now. If i change to 100% and didnt have like cooling. Will it ok? Thx
Sorry noob ask. Cant find answer anywhere. I can search the reset thing but its better asking then after it bricked and sorry asking this again cuz this is my first asus router i used to use Linksys router . thx

And another question. So i see that there people that complain on stock fw. The max tx rate is capped . so. I was wondering if merlin fw will remove that. And i wanna know if i can do select my region. So i can just set channel auto. Cuz like channel 49 or such. All my devices cant connect. Cuz my region didnt support that channel only like 149.. Thx again
