Questions regarding AC56U (DDR freq and rtorrent)

Midvalley

New Around Here
Hey Guys,

Just purchased a new AC56U and installed rmerlin's 374.43_2 on it. Had a few issues, and I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help with.

First, ran into an issue where after about a day the wireless clients would no longer be able to accessed via a wired client. If I were to attempt to browse a share it would fail, and ping would come back with "destination host unreachable". I tried doing a factory reset to clear the nvram about 24 hours ago and set everything back up the same. So far it has been fine, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has encountered similar issues?

Second, I know there is a CFE patcher for the AC68U that bumps the the DDR frequency to 666. I found a comment from rmerlin on the forums that indicated that newer firmware builds should do the same to the AC56U. After I did my last nvram reset, I checked and the ddr was at 533. I bumped it up manually, and did the nvram commit command, but I was wondering if that was normal? Bootloader version is 1.0.1.9, if that helps/matters.

Third, last one I promise, does anyone have an asuswrt optware-centric guide for the configuration of rtorrent+rutorrent? I'm after running through guides written for optware on DD-WRT, Synology devices, etc, but nothing has worked for me. The install always ends up broken in some way. I've tried comparing the entware procedure and sussing out the differences, but I'm afraid this is outside the realm of my *nix abilities.

Thanks for any comments or advice you guys may have to give. Please let me know if you need any additional details.

So, as an update, I've had no further routing issues in the last couple days since the nvram reset, so I guess question one is moot. Something was wonky, and it should be corrected now.

Any input on the other two?

Ac68 has a tool from Asus that does its magic and permenatly bumps the DDR speed. Did you check if there is such tool from Asus for your router?

Yes I have the same problem but it much worse! I lose connection to wifi devices every 30-60minutes. I'll try factory reset aswell.

Nothing I can find, there's no additional download for anything on ASUS's site the way there is for the AC68U.
